Financing the Future - Empowering Women as Leaders in the Green Economy
As we navigate the complexities of transitioning to a low-carbon future, the need for bold, innovative, and inclusive climate solutions has never been more pressing. Women, as entrepreneurs and business leaders, are already at the forefront of developing and delivering the transformative solutions the world urgently needs. Yet, despite their immense potential, women face significant barriers in establishing and scaling green businesses, with challenges particularly acute in accessing finance and investment opportunities.
This panel discussion brings together diverse voices to examine the dual imperatives of empowering women to lead in the green economy and addressing the barriers they face in assuming this leadership role. Key topics will include systemic biases in financing decisions, alongside the regulatory, cultural, and social obstacles that disproportionately impact women entrepreneurs.
By emphasizing the importance of gender-responsive investment strategies, the discussion will also spotlight practical solutions and policy recommendations aimed at creating a more inclusive ecosystem for female climate leaders. Together, we will explore pathways to unlock the full potential of women in shaping a sustainable and equitable future.

Sustainable Finance - Key Steps to Create an Effective ESG Strategy - Aligning Business Goals to Sustainable Finance Requirements - Delivered by: Anthesis Group
This workshop is intended for those individuals at those companies which are interested in raising green finance through Green Bonds, Social Bonds, and Sustainability Linked Loans in order to finance their green projects and help meet their ESG objectives; and for those who have already raised green finance and hope to continue this type of financing, refine and elevate their interactions with investors
Through a mix of presentations and a panel discussion, with leaders in Sustainable Finance in the Middle East, this workshop provides an introduction to the development of those instruments and how companies can best prepare themselves in the fund-raising cycle and continued engagement with investors. Importantly, with the prospect of green-washing being a criticism of companies raising such finance, how best can they align their ESG strategies, initiatives, fundraising activities and reporting, to mitigate such concerns.

The Role of Public and Private Investment in Generating Decarbonization Action - Delivered by: Environment Arabia
The workshop will delve into the pivotal role that both public and private investments play in driving decarbonization initiatives. The session will provide valuable insights into how strategic public funding can act as a catalyst for broader, long-term decarbonization efforts, inspiring and mobilizing private sector participation. A featured case study from the UK will demonstrate this dynamic, showcasing how a government grant facilitated the creation of a comprehensive decarbonization plan for a port and its 11 tenants. This plan not only provided these organizations with a clear roadmap for implementing essential decarbonization measures but also positioned them to pursue further funding opportunities to support their efforts. By exploring the step-by-step development of this plan, participants will gain an understanding of how public investments can lay the groundwork for private funding, accelerate collaborative climate action, and generate significant, sustainable outcomes.
