Erik Ringvold

Erik Ringvold serves as the Chief Business Development Officer at VCM, overseeing the organization’s Business Development, Advisory and Strategic Project functions. In this capacity, Erik drives strategic initiatives, fosters partnerships, and leads efforts to expand VCM’s impact across the global carbon market landscape.

As an executive specializing in carbon markets, Erik brings extensive experience across the full carbon market value chain. Before joining VCM, he spent the last decade at McKinsey & Company, where he advised a diverse range of stakeholders, including projectdevelopers, traders, banks, investors, carbon credit buyers, and standard setters. A recognized thought leader in the field, Erik has published extensively on carbon markets and carbon accounting, co-authoring several of the most widely cited reports in the industry.

Before transitioning to carbon markets, Erik began his career as an energy systems engineer, later moving into consulting for the financial industry where he worked extensively with banks, payment providers, and exchanges.
