Dr. Hiba Harara

Dr. Hiba Nayif Harara is the Vice President of Electricity & Water Transmission in Electricity & Water Authority (EWA) of the Kingdom of Bahrain. She is responsible for the safe and reliable Operations and Maintenance of the Kingdom’s Electricity & Water Networks including the GCCIA Interlink. She is also responsible for the economic purchase of power and water from the Independent Power and Water Producers (IPWPs) to meet Bahrain’s needs and oversees contract management with the IPWPs. With over 30 years of experience at various technical and executive roles in EWA, she is a resource of knowledge and experience in technical, financial, and legal matters related to Electricity & Water Production, Transmission and Distribution .

Dr. Hiba holds a PhD in Electricity Economics from the University of Hull, United Kingdom, with specialization including (but not limited to) Electricity markets, Privatization, Regulation and IPWP contract management. She has a Master of Science (M.Sc.) in Electrical Engineering (with Distinction) from the University of Bahrain, and a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) in Electrical Engineering (with Distinction) from the University of Bahrain.
