Dr. Hanan Albuflasa

Dr. Hanan Albuflasa has a Ph.D. and M.Sc. in Renewable Energy from Loughborough University in the UK. Internationally recognised for her expertise, she represents Bahrain in the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC) for Solar and Wind Energy and served as the IEEE PES Region Representative for Europe, the Middle East, and Africa in 2023. She led several international research collaborations, including EU-GCC and Horizon2020. Her research contributions cover renewable energy integration, desalination technologies, and energy efficiency. She has published several journal papers and book chapters. In 2022, the United Nations Women designated her the most prominent scientist in Bahrain in the fields of sustainability, environment, and renewable energy.
